Volzhsky is a town located on southeast side of the Volograd Oblast beside the River Volga in east shore and near the streams of Akhtuba. The town was first mentioned in 1951 as the upgraded version of Volzhsky and after three-year township status was granted. The Mayor of the town is Igor Voronin.
