Surgut is a town located on the center east of the Khanty- Mansi Autonomous Okrug in Russia near the River Ob joining with River Irtysh. The town was founded as Gostiny Dvor in 1594. The city status was given in June 25, 1965. The Mayor of the city is Vadim Shuvalov.
