Shlisselburg is a town located on the central north of Leningrad Oblast in Kirovsky District near the top of River Neva beside Ladoga Lake in Russia. There is wooden Fortress constructed by Grand Prince Yury of Moscow in 1323 on the behalf of the Novgorod Republic and named it Oreshek or Orekhov. The town was first mentioned in 1702 and granted town status in 1780. There is one of the historical landmark Old Ladoga Canal constructed in 1719.
