Sovetsk is a town located on the northern side of the Kaliningrad Oblast near the south shore of River Neman in Russia. The town was founded in 1288 by the Teutonic Knights who grew up around the castle and known as Schalauer Haus. The civic rights were given in 1552 by the Duke of Prussia, Albert. The head of the government currently is Viktor Smilgin. Most of the buildings in the town were damaged or destroyed in World War II but some of the remains of German Buildings and queen Louise Bridge stayed still till now.
