Sim is a town located on the northwest side of the Chelyabinsk Oblast in Ashinsky District near the River Sim in Russia. The town was founded as Simsky Zavod a establishment near an Ironwork in 1759. The town was granted township status in November 13, 1942 and renamed as Sim. The town is native place of famous Soviet/Russian physicist Igor Kurchatov.
