Saratov is a city located on the north center of the Saratov Oblast near Volga River port on the upstream of Volgograd in Russia. The name of the city is taken from the word Sary Tau meaning Yellow Mountains. The head of administration of the City is Mikhail Isayev and Government body is City Duma. The date on which the city was founded is reported to be ca. 1590 and city status was granted in 1708.
