About Zeya
Zeya is a town situated in the middle of the Amur Oblast near the River Zeya along with Tynda in the southeast side and Blagoveshchensk in the north. The town shares its legal status with Baker city Oregon in the United States. The focus for the economy of the town is Zeya Dam along with gold mining, agricultural and forestry. The town was first known as the establishment of Zeysky Sklad in 1879. The town was one of the important gold-producing areas in Russia until the start-up in Kolyma oblast took place in the 1930s.
