Yegoryevsk is a town located in the middle of the Moscow Oblast along the River Guslitsa River on the right shore. The town was founded as the selo of Vysokoye in 1462 and granted town status in 1778. The name of the town was given on the honor of St. Egory aka Saint George. The town is twin sister with Pirdop in Bulgaria, Zghurivka in Ukraine, Zhuji in China, and Mazyr in Belarus. The town is a birthplace of famous Olympic gymnast Aliya Mustafina.
