Volgodonsk is a city located on the eastern side of the Rostov Oblast near the Reservoir of Tsimlyansk on the west shore in Russia. The city was founded as the small establishment of hydroelectric dam of Tsimlyansk on 27 July 1950. The head of the city is Viktor Firsov. The city status was given in 1956.
