About Uglegorsk
Uglegorsk is a town located on the west side of the Sakhalin Oblast in Uglegorsky District near the Islands of Sakhalin on the west coast in Russia. The town was first known in 1905 during the time of Japanese rule as Esutoru. The town received township rights in 1946 and named as Uglegorsk.
