Tayshet is a town located on northwest side of the Irkutsk Oblast in Tayshetsky District in Russia. The town was first mentioned as a Delivery point on Trans-Seberian Railway station in 1897 and in 1983 was granted township status. The head of the government in the town is Alexander Zaika.
