Puchezh is a port town in Puchezhsky District in Ivanovo Oblast. The town is situated on the west side of Russia near River Volga. The town first mentioned in 1594 as Puchishche Sloboda. The major industry in this town is of Grain and Flax trade. A lot of women workers got employment after the establishment of thread- producing plant founded in 1862.
